Delivering HELP in Your Circle - Strategic Networking for Business Development
Too many people spend time networking and "getting out there" without the business development results they hoped for. Getting results from networking is difficult, because we all know it takes time and effort, but the long sales cycle means we may be doing the wrong things for a long time before we realize it.
A clear strategy is called for, where we can be more sure that what we are doing will produce the desired results.
This presentation lays out such a strategy. It outlines the two elements to the development of a powerful network, each that can be used separately, or in combination for greater results. It is relevant both to younger professionals that don't yet have domain expertise, as well as for seasoned veterans who aim to create a personal brand or reputation, and transmit that brand through their network.
A key theme throughout is that you must identify people who you should bring into the inner most circle of your network, then deliver help to them, so that they will want to help you in return. Real world examples will be shown and discussed. This talk is NOT focused on tools (like LinkedIn, etc.) nor specific networking groups, nor personal behaviors (smile, shake firmly, etc.), and is not a purely motivational talk. The focus is on networking and business development strategy for professionals.
